North School Park

As part of the first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in nearly 100 years (visible in downstate Illinois), join us to see the deep partial eclipse that will be visible from Arlington Heights. Participate in activities, and learn how to safely view a solar eclipse. In case of inclement weather, we will watch a live feed of the eclipse and have activities in the library's Hendrickson Room. For all ages. Viewing glasses available to the first 200 customers.

Glasses will be distributed at the start of the program (12:30 p.m.), to the first 200 people. We will be encouraging people to share! THERE WILL BE NO GLASSES DISTRIBUTED AHEAD OF TIME.
To receive glasses, there will be a clear area in which to line up. This defined area will be in place around 9:30 a.m.

The glasses were purchased through American Paper Optics, and are approved by NASA: https://www.eclipseglasses.com/. The solar filter used on the telescope is likewise approved and safe.
