Read & Feed Food Drive

ReadFeed_blog (2) A three-month “Read & Feed” food drive runs from September 1–December 1 at the Library. Bookmobile and AH Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road. We will deliver them to Northwest Suburban United Way, CEDA Northwest and Wheeling Township to restock their food pantries. And because many people out of work have had to give up their pets, the “Read & Feed” drive will also accept items for donation to The Buddy Foundation, which cares for stray, abused and abandoned animals. Donations may include unopened and unexpired cans or boxes of: • rice • beans • meats • stews • soup • peanut butter • cereal • pasta • macaroni and cheese • fruits • vegetables • powdered or evaporated milk • paper goods – paper towels, toilet paper, napkins and infant diapers. Pet items to donate include: • dog food – canned or dry • dog treats • cat food – canned or dry • cat treats • scoopable cat litter For more information about items to donate to the “Read & Feed” collection, please visit www.ahml.info or call 847-506-2613.
