Talented but naive composer Winslow Leach brings his rock cantata based on "Faust" to corrupt rock producer/impresario Swan, meeting a talented singer named Phoenix in the process. Swan steals the cantata, seeing it as the perfect music for the opening night of the Paradise, his new rock palace, then has Winslow sent to prison on trumped-up charges to get rid of him. When Winslow hears Swan's debased version of his songs he escapes and is horribly disfigured while attempting to destroy records at Swan's record pressing plant. Winslow makes his way to the Paradise, Swan's new rock palace to take revenge on Swan - but can Swan be defeated?
