I have read every book in Stephanie Plum series. And I feel like this story needs an ending. There is no laughter, no romance, no thrill. Everything is predictable, from dialogue to what the characters wear. Janet Evanovich needs to pick a guy for Stephanie and end this series.
I read only a few pages of this book before closing it for good.
The characters have changed. The dialogue is subtly different. It's hard to believe that Janet Evanovich wrote this book. Instead, it seems like it was written by someone who is trying hard to imitate her style - but falls flat.
I miss the Stephanie Plum books of old, and I read every one of them up to Notorious Nineteen. This book, like Notorious Nineteen, does not have the same characters as the first 18 books in this series, and it lacks the smooth storytelling, too.
If you are new to the series, perhaps you will like it. If you are a fan of Stephanie Plum, you won't find her here.
