Les Miserables

Les Miserables follows the life story of Jean Valjean. The movie starts with Valjean and other prisoners pulling in a ship from the ocean, and Valjean is freed on parol. His guard, or more appropriately hi tormentor, is the cruel and strict Javert. After Valjean steals some silver and makes a new life for himself, he becomes an extremely influential man in the society. After almost being caught, Valjean changes his name and adopts a young girl named Cosette.

The story skips ahead nine years to the French Revolution, when Cosette meets a young man named Marius, and they both instantly fall in love with each other. Valjean struggles with letting go of his daughter, and he finds himself confronting his nemesis Javert.

When the resolution of the story comes around, it brings a bittersweet ending along with it. The movie ends leaving you with tears in your eyes. This musical is definitely for music lovers, and there is no talking allowed, just singing! By the time the credits roll, you will be humming along to the catchy songs!
