The authors present brief notable stories from the lives of people around the world, each accompanied by vocabulary, grammar and discourse exercises, followed by a unit for students to tell their own stories, and ending with sample questions, or interactors, all intended to help teachers and students practice interacting in spoken English conversations and discussions

The accompanying audio CDs are read by Maureen Hart and Ray Clark and include each story and its vocabulary pronunciation, dictation and "Summing up" dialogue
