O*NET, the Occupational Information Network, is a comprehensive database of worker attributes and job characteristics. The O*NET database includes information on skills, abilities, knowledges, work activities, and interests associated with occupations. Information in O*NET is available for over 950 occupations. Each occupational title and code is based on the most current version of the Standard Occupational Classification system

Mode of access: Internet from the O*NET web site. Address as of 9/6/01: http://online.onetcenter.org/main.html; current access is available via PURL

System requirements: PC or MAC with Web browser. Best viewed with a Javascript-enabled browser (such as Netscape 4.X or Internet Explorer 5.X) that supports frames
