Human Library: What It's Like to Be a Stroke Survivor

Hear the individual stories of people who may be very unlike you and leave with a renewed understanding of walking in someone else’s shoes. Chuck Osgood, former Chicago Tribune photojournalist and co-author of Sidewalks: Portraits of Chicago, will moderate.

Local resident Jim Niehoff suffered from a stroke in his late 30s that left him unable to speak, read or write. Come hear about his road to recovery, including how he used the resources of the library’s Literacy Office.
