Volunteers are placed in positions best suited to their skills, interests, and availability. Volunteer selection is based on qualifications of applicants and the needs of the library at any given time. Our volunteers work in varied positions around the library and are involved in activities such as:
- Teaching or coaching computer classes
- Assisting patrons with genealogy research
- Processing new books
- Assisting with interlibrary loans and reserves
- Tutoring ESL students
- Staffing the Reading Room or Computer Room at the Senior Center
- Sorting and organizing donations for the Friends of the Library book sales
